Linda Sheaves
1964-2019
It is with the most broken of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Linda Sheaves (Bacon) in February of 2019 in Athabasca, Alberta at the age of 54 years old. Beloved wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend to so many.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, David Sheaves, and their children Jennifer (Chris) Toutant and Louis (Laura) Sheaves. Linda will also be forever remembered by her precious grandbabies, Joleigh, Carson, Evelyn, and Jade; her mother, Rose Bacon; her sisters, Barbara (Don) Ayers, Lenae Smydra, Valerie Wagar, Joyce Walker and Eileen Boissonneault; her brothers Frank Bacon and Andrew (Michele) Bacon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who she truly loved with all of her heart. Linda was predeceased by her Grandmother, Maria Desjarlais; her Father, William Bacon; and her nephews Wayne and Kurt Wagar.
Born in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Linda was the youngest of eight kids in a house where she was affectionately known as “Sarge”. She was a young, red-headed beauty who had a zest for life and a feistiness that has now been passed down to even her youngest of grandchildren.
She met and married her greatest love in August of 1983 and truly dedicated her life to the most important people in her world: Her Family. Linda and David were the truest examples of real, soul-deep love and, in the face of all of life’s joys and challenges, are the greatest example of ever-lasting friendship and partnership. A legacy that will never be forgotten and a great lesson in the truly important things of life.
Words can never fully express how much Linda will be missed. Knowing how much she would not want us to mourn her passing, we invite everyone to a Celebration of Her Life on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 1:00 PM at the Athabasca Senior Centre (4810 48th Street, Athabasca, Alberta). Please join us and bring your best memories and your biggest smiles as our Linda would want nothing but a room full of love and laughter as we remember her kind heart and giving spirit.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Linda’s name to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation would be the most gracious of gifts. Linda loved all the littles in her life and that charity was always dear to her heart.
