Alvin Jones

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alvin Jones on May 18th 2023 at the age of 87.     Alvin passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side.    He is survived by his children Carol-Lee Thorne (Stephen) and Tim Jones (Vicki),  his cherished grandchildren Sterling and Silver, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved animals.    He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Beverley.  

Alvin was born in Woodworth, Manitoba on April 14, 1936.  He grew up and stayed in Lenore, Manitoba until he moved to Edmonton in the early 1960’s.    This is where he met and married the love of his life Beverley and started their family.      Alvin started his career in Edmonton at Northwest Tent and Awning and branched out to start up Norsman Shelters Limited where he stayed until his retirement in the early 1990’s allowing him and Bev to enjoy their beautiful lake property and do some travelling.

Alvin will always be remembered for the love he had for his family, as a neat freak, for his kindness and his crazy sense of humour.     It was not uncommon for him to break out into some song or even the 1.49 day Tuesday diddy out of the blue making everyone around him smile. 

“Papa (Dad) you will be forever missed and always in our hearts and thoughts but we take solace in knowing you are united with your true love.”

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
