Angelina “Anne” Joanne Nayowski nee Schneider
November 6, 1921 – June 7, 2020
On Sunday, June 7, 2020, at the age of 98 years, Anne passed away peacefully at the Boyle Healthcare Centre.
She was born in Cactus Lake, Saskatchewan, and moved to Edmonton after the war. She married John Nayowski in 1949. In 1955, they moved to Boyle to raise their six children.
Anne was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of the Boyle Royal Canadian Legion, 169. She enjoyed a simple life, having coffee with friends, hosting family meals, and watching her favorite sports on TV. Her family fondly remembers visiting her to play cards and raiding the cookie jar.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Nayowski, and her son, Jim Nayowski.
She is survived by her five children: Shirley (Wayne) Lapawchuk, daughter-in-law Mariette Nayowski, Ken (Liz) Nayowski, Pat (Victor) Moskalyk, Cheri (Keith) Grabski, and John (Raynelle McNamara) Nayowski. During her life, her family grew to include 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Maria Schneider, and brother Edward Schneider.
Thank you to the staff at the Wild Rose Villa and the Boyle Healthcare Centre for caring for her in the final years of her life.
A private family service will take place to celebrate her life.
