Anne Mary Boehlke

It is with profound sadness that the family of Anne Boehlke announce her passing.

Anne was born in Westport, Ireland to Michael and Anne Flanagan on March 30,1944 and a few years later her family relocated to Surrey, England.

After spending many years in the hospitality industry throughout Alberta, she moved to Athabasca and married Dan Boehlke on May 15, 1997.

They opened Anne’s Fine Dining at the Green Spot in 2008. She really enjoyed and appreciated all her customers and staff over the years. She took great joy in meeting new people, spending time with ones she knew, and making sure she made her way around to say hello. Often, she would deliver soup to her regulars who were patients at the Athabasca Hospital.

Anne is survived her loving husband, Dan Boehlke; daughter Anne (Peter) Karczmarczyk – Brenna & Kyra, son Martin (Michelle) Sheridan - John & Martin, Raelene (Greg) Johnson – Danika & Davon; Perry (Cara) Boehlke – Megan, Cole & Mandi; Ron (Carmen) Boehlke – Kaity & Kourtney. Also survived by Jack (Teresa) Sheridan – father of her children, sister-in-law’s Geri (Glen) Koehler, Judy Ryan, Colette Patry as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents Mike and Anne Flanagan, and brother-in-law Mel Ryan.

Special thank you to Dr. Johanna Klopper & Dr. Leon Burger for your loving care and attention over the years, and as well to the many attending doctors, nurses and staff. Thank you to all the friends of the family who have shown your love and kindness.

No service is planned at this time, but a Celebration of Life to take place in the near future, a time and place to be determined.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Ladies Auxiliary at the Athabasca Hospital.
