It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barry James Brant, 61, of Athabasca. On January 15, 2023, Barry passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife Ursula by his side.
Barry was born in Athabasca on September 12, 1961 to parents Ronald and Kathi Brant. Barry spent most of life as a welder. He started Barry Brant Welding in 1985 and continued to work until 2015. Barry had a great fondness for the outdoors, fishing, ski dooing, and quading, but most of all, Barry loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Barry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ursula, and his sons; Ted (Hannah) St. Albert, Travis (Pamela) Athabasca, daughter-in-law Sara (Craig) Athabasca, and daughter Erin (Joe) Edmonton. Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Zachary, Sydney, Kaylee, Anna, Declan and Jasper. Barry is predeceased by his mother Kathi and son Craig.
A memorial service will be held at the Athabasca Agriplex on February 7th, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
