Darrol Vernon Dierkhising

Darrol Dierkhising of Wabasca, Alberta passed away on December 28, 2025 in his 77th year. Darrol will be missed by his loving wife of 45 years Cheryl Leatham, his daughter Erin and his son Morgan. He was a loving grandfather to his grandchildren Tyana, Tayva, and Tanika Beaver, Mason Badger, and Hendrix Dierkhising. Darrol is survived by his sisters Sharon Robert and Maureen Mcdonald as well as his sisters-in-law Jill Simmons and Angela Leatham.

Darrol was an educator. He came to Wabasca as a new teacher in 1973 to teach at Mistassiniy. He then moved to St. Theresa School where he taught, was a vice principal and finished his career as a principal.

Darrol served with the Commissionaires at the local RCMP detachment for many years.

Darrol was deeply committed to his local Catholic Church St. Martin and was involved with the Parish Council.

Darrol was an avid hunter and fisherman. He built his home and raised his children and grandchildren in it, here in Wabasca.

He committed his life to his family, his work, his church and his community of Wabasca.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community members. Rest in peace dear Darrol.
