It is with great sadness that the family of Don Radmanovich announce his passing on March 2, 2025 at the Athabasca Healthcare Center.
Don leaves to mourn his wife of 51 years Connie, son DJ and daughter-in-law Sarah, daughter Jody and son-in-law Ron Powder, grandsons Andy and Tim Radmanovich and Donovin Powder, sisters Donna (Dan Allen), Linda (William Shyian), Carol (Gerry Vercammen), Lori (Lee Bieraugle) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Joan and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Don was born on July 18, 1951 in Athabasca, the second of five children. After high school he spent a short period of time working away but Boyle was always home to him. Shortly after venturing out he moved back and in 1973 he married Connie Fischer and they started their family together.
Throughout the years Don and Connie built up various businesses in Boyle, including Central Sales which has been the daily coffee spot throughout the years. Lively debates, political analysis and good-hearted fun with the guys always put a smile on his face.
Don was very proud of his town and always advocated for what he thought would help the town. He spent many years on town council and always supported the local groups and businesses in any way that he could. This was important to him in both his working and retirement years.
The family wishes to thank all of those who supported Don over the last seven months as he battled glioblastoma. The staff at the Athabasca Healthcare Center were extremely gracious to him and looked after him so well. The regular visits from friends and family helped everyone along the way.
A private celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date and in his honor, donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute and Stars, two organizations that were important to him.
