Donalda was born in Kelvington, Saskatchewan to Edwin and Susan Messenger on April 7,1939.
She attended Treherne Center country school until grade eight. Her High School was taken by correspondence with help from a teacher at East Treherne school which was the district that George had lived in.
As a young lady at home she was quiet and thoughtful, looking after anyone needing help.
She met George at a skating party and also attended dances where George played guitar in the band.
In 1958 she married the guitar, skating man and they had 61 years of happily married life. Donalda was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1965. She and George entered the full time ministry in 1967 and in 1971 they moved to Athabasca, Alberta. Donalda was a loving sister to all in the congregation and continued in her full time ministry until her death on May 22, 2023.
She loved growing flowers and watching the birds and other young animals play. She had a favorite pet, her dog Rusty.
Donalda is survived by her sisters, Annabel Nedjelski and Barb (Charles) Bagnall; her brothers Edwin Messenger and Sherol Messenger; as well as numerous nieces and nephews,
She is predeceased by her husband George; son Thomas; parents Susan and Edwin Messenger; her brother Earl Messenger; sister-in-laws: Kay, Mary, Gloria, and Margaret Messenger; and brother-in-laws Henry Nedjelski and Howard Christianson.
For those who helped Donalda in her last days: Doctor Klopper, the nurses and staff at the Athabasca Hospital and all that shared time sitting with her and helping in any way. Thank You!
A memorial service will be held June 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Tower Road, 662077- Range Road 222, Athabasca, Alberta.
