Dora Ottenbreit (nee Hackett) beloved wife, mother, sister and nana passed peacefully Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was born on Woods Island, Newfoundland on February 1st, 1951. Her zest for life is fondly remembered by all, as well as her quick wit.
Her Husband of 32 years, Kevin, grieves her loss. Children Paul Bradley Young and daughter Taylor-Jade Centaine, Gregory William Young, wife Molly and daughter Bonita, Kody Anthony Ottenbreit as well as stepdaughter Haley Myrol, husband Moses and children Raizel and Lev. Dora leaves brothers: Austin (Vera), Bill, Gord (Elaine) and Frank. She also has sisters Jean, Imelda and Sheila (Alan) to mourn her loss. Her many nieces, nephews and grandchildren are left with fond memories of their aunty, nana all of whom she loved dearly.
Dora was predeceased by her father Raymond, mother Frances. She had two brothers Jim and Raymond who predeceased her as well as a sister Ann.
Dora’s love of education led her to becoming a teacher first with Medicine Hat Catholic School board, then with Northland School Division where she taught in Ft. Chipewyan and finishing her teaching career in Wabasca, AB. She had many passions in life, a good book was never far from her side. Walking was another of her loves as she took part in many different runs. Card playing was something she grew up with and she loved a good game of 120’s or Wizard.
Dora lived a big life and is missed by all. Rest in peace sweet tart.
