Emma Shawaluk Obituary

Emma Shawaluk, 81, of Boyle, Alberta, passed away on February 19, 2025 after a short battle with cancer.

Emma was born on November 11, 1943 the youngest of 8 siblings to parents John & Marie Pfau in Frains, Alberta.  In 1961 Emma married Joe Shawaluk in Boyle, Alberta and both settled on the Shawaluk farm a few miles north of Boyle and continued farming for many years. 

Emma was predeceased by her husband Joe in 2012.  She then moved into an apartment in Boyle and sold the farm.  She eventually moved to the Wild Rose Villa in 2023 until her passing.

Emma is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter Christine Fraser and husband Jeff, Step-grandsons, Spencer and Maxwell.  Friends Gracy Holdis, Jackie Matoga, Carol Soroka, and many other friends, numerous nieces and nephews, and surviving siblings.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Schaub and nursing staff at the Athabasca Hospital for the exemplary care she received.  The family would also like to thank the Wild Rose Villa and staff for the care she received while she was a resident.  She mentioned she wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.  THANK YOU!
