She was born October 16, 1930 to Lauchlin & Elsie Milne in the district of Lamont (Opal), the family then moved to a homestead in Ranch near Smith in 1932. Ethel spent most of her life in Ranch, with a short period of time in Edmonton & the past three years at the Wildrose Villa in Boyle. Growing up in a pioneer family, Ethel developed a love for the outdoors and the hard work that went with it. She farmed until 1980 then spent many years as the campsite attendant at Lawrence Lake. Ethel was happiest spending time hunting & trapping (well into her 80’s), gardening, visiting with family & neighbours and coffee with the gang at the café.
Ethel was predeceased by her first husband Roy McDowell in 1966, second husband Francis Allard in 2015, sister-in-law Blanche, sister-in-law Isabelle & brother Norman Milne in 2018.
