It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Evelyn Elsie Webb (Nee L’Hirondelle), who left this world on December 4th 2025 at the age of 94.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Evelyn’s love, kindness, and spirit will forever remain with all who were blessed to know her.
Born on January 15 1931 in Villeneuve, Alberta. Evelyn lived a life filled with care, gentleness, strength and generosity. Whether through her words, actions, or quiet presence, Evelyn had a way of making others feel safe, loved, understood, valued and heard .
She dedicated her life to family, and took great joy in cooking, gardening, visiting with friends, spending time with family and of course Bingo! . Those who knew Evelyn will remember her dedication in helping communities through the justice system.
Evelyn was the last surviving member of her generation. She was predeceased by her parents Vital and Margaret L’Hirondelle, her husband, Howard Webb and her numerous brothers and sisters.
Above all, Evelyn cherished her family. She is survived by her 7 children; Kevin, Clarence, Riel (Brenda), Mark, Doug (Karina), Gloria (Paola), Colin (Kristin) and her 4 grandchildren; Declan, Alexander, Adam and Olivia, who will forever carry her love in their hearts as well as numerous relatives, nieces and nephews and very dear friends.
Evelyn is also remembered by her friends in Fort McMurray and surrounding communities as well as the Athabasca area, who were touched by her presence.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to the Doctors, nurses and staff at the Athabasca Hospital (POD 2) who provided exceptional care and compassion during her last days.
A funeral will be held on December 19th 2025 at Saint Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church (5303 49 ave, Athabasca, T9S1L1) at 11 am, held by Father Jhack where loved ones will gather to honour Evelyn’s beautiful life and the memories we will hold dearly forever.
Though Evelyn is no longer with us in body, her love, lessons, and legacy will continue to guide us. We will miss her more than words can express, and we are forever grateful for the time we were given.
