Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Fredrick John Staszewski of Athabasca, Alberta on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the age of 87 years.
The youngest of six, Fred is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years Eleanor; son Boyd (Maria and their children Zach and Zophia); daughter Sonia (Gerald Acheson); as well as an extensive list of family and friends.
Fred is predeceased by his parents, Zofia and John Staszewski; his brother Edward; his sisters: Jeannie, Stefana, Sabinka, & Theodora; as well as his beloved husky dogs that were always at his feet.
Known for his quick smile, bubbly attitude, and bounce-back resilience, he held a deep love for his family even though it was hard for him to say it.
Join the family on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Athabasca Seniors Centre for stories, fond memories, and tip your cup to a man with a fondness for weak-coffee, kubassa, and lemon meringue pie.
Take one last load to Didsbury, Dad. The roads are clear.
