Glen Sodergren

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa (Grampy), who passed away peacefully on the morning of November 15th 2025.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years, Donna; his children Fern (Larry) and Dennis (Tracey); his grandchildren Laura (Bill), Pamela (Eric), Kevin, Jay (Amber), and Grant (Victoria); and his great-grandchildren Lydia, Leland, Camden, Leyla, Declan, Maxwell, and Knox. He will also be missed by his siblings Jim (Marion) and Joan (Gerry), along with extended family and friends.

A farmer at heart, Glen built the farm of his dreams, in the Ellscott area. Glen also spent many years working in the oil patch, and driving school buses and trucks.

Glen was a proud founding member of the Boyle Agriculture Society, where he was active for many years. He was also a member and competitor of the Boyle Rodeo, and was involved with the local Lions Club. He loved playing and coaching baseball, curling, and square dancing. Glen was one of the founding member of the Twilight Twirlers square dancing group, where he later found his place as a dance caller.

Glen and Donna enjoyed travelling together to many destinations over the years, creating countless memories with friends and family.

His family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at the Athabasca Health Care Centre for their care and compassion during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, you may honour his memory by performing an act of kindness.
