It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our so and brother James Blair Richard Hanna.
James grew up in Athabasca and attended Edwin Parr Composite High School. James was a journeyman sheet metalworker with Local 8 Sheet Metal Workers International. Also an active member of Narcotics Anonymous for the last 10 years: of which his family is very proud.
James is remembered for his incredible sense of humour and ability to make people laugh, his tender heart, kindness towards animals and children, his love of the beauty of nature and creativity, his art and carving. He loved fishing, sky diving, adventures, and spending time with family and friends. James travelled to Angola, Africa for work and then across Europe and the Arctic.
James will be lovingly and forever remembered by his father: George Hanna (Eileen Yowney); sister: Kathy Norton; nephew: Ryan and niece: Kara; sister: Susan Bandola (Peter); niece: Sierra and nephew: John: as well as his fur companions: PK and Bam Bam.
