Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jane Kapitaniuk on March 22, 2023, at the tender age of 88.
Jane is survived by her loving sons Raymond, Terry (Darce) and Dale; daughter in law Shirley; grandchildren, Terri, Leslie (Tyler), Sheena, Leah and Derek; great grandchildren, Jordyne, McKenzie, Brenden, Isla, Lucca and Kora; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jane was predeceased by her soul mate of 65 years, Kalenick, her son, Rudy, daughter-in-law, Winnie, and her sisters Mary, Lil, Kay and Leda.
Jane grew up on a farm outside of Athabasca with her 4 sisters. She continued a farming lifestyle when she married Kalenick and had her 4 wonderful boys. She had a passion for cooking and baking. This passion steered her and her dear friends to start a catering business, which kept her heavily involved in the community. She loved to be surrounded by family, friends and laughter.
A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 7:00 pm at the Athabasca Community Chapel. Please join the family in remembering Jane on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Athabasca Missionary Church. Pastor Al Plat and Pastor Jason Metcalf will be officiating. Cremation to follow.
