It is with great sadness that the family of Janet Martynek-Hansen announces her passing. Janet passed away peacefully at her home in Edmonton, Alberta on August 10, 2022 at the age of 60 years.
Janet grew up on a farm near Athabasca, AB and completed her school years there. After school, she moved to Edmonton where she became a nurse. Nursing was not only a career, but it was also her passion. When her MS symptoms became worse, it prevented her from continuing in active nursing. Janet then taught nursing students for 5 years.
Janet is survived by her mom, Dolores Martynek (Ron); son Harley Bone; daughter Reo Anderson; grandchildren: Charles, Paisley and Italya; stepdaughter Tara and her three children; her sisters: Carla Makar (Andy) and Rhonda Legault (John); her brother Wade Martynek (Karen); and numerous nieces, nephews, close family and loyal friends.
Janet is predeceased by her father, Charles Martynek; her sister Cindy Hutchings; and her husband Henning Hansen.
Janet will live on in our hearts and memories forever until we meet again in the presence of Jesus and our loved ones waiting for a great reunion for eternity in our final destination. Going Home!
Janet’s funeral service will be held at the All Saints Anglican Church in Athabasca, AB on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:00 am. Athabasca Community Chapel is in care of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of Alberta, Anglican Parish of Athabasca (Building Fund) or a charity of your choice.
