It is with profound sadness and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Jason Brad Kapitaniuk, on February 2nd, 2025.
He will be remembered by his mother (Sherry Yashuk) grandmother (Muriel Yashuk) brother (Khris) sister (Jolene) son (Jayden) and daughter (Brook) granddaughter (Rey) as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his grandfather (Nick Yashuk)
Jason's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by him understand his existence and the imprint he left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time he stayed.
Jason grew up on the family farm with his grandma and grandpa Yashuk. He spent a few years with his mom, brother and stepfather in Port Alise B.C. Then moved around a bit but couldn't stay away from the farm life and of course grandma Muriel.
Jason attended school at E.P.C in Athabasca but like a lot of the Yashuk men he decided school wasn't for him and took his uncle David up on a job on the oil rigs to make him into a real man.
Jason loved to work on vehicles, small engines and electronics. If you put it in front of him, he could figure it out. He was always learning and trying to help others. Jason also loved anything to do with the oilers, if you didn't catch the game all you had to do was call Jason.
Jason always had a unique perspective on life, tried to enjoy it the best of his abilities. He was caring, loving and would help whoever he could.
Jason was one of a kind and to be loved by him you were truly blessed. May his infectious smile live on forever.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Athabasca Community Chapel with cremation to follow.
