It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Vincent Miceli at the age of 75. John came to Alberta, Canada from Arizona, USA 26 years ago to start a new chapter in his life. He leaves behind the love of his life, Gail Miceli, and his two step-children Sean (Gordana), and grandsons, Max and Spencer, his step-daughter Shanna, and granddaughters, Liberty, Cydnie, Allie, and Ava. He will also be dearly missed by Gail’s brothers and sisters, their spouses, nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his father-in-law Norman Hayton, who played a special part in his life.
He also leaves behind his U.S. family: daughter, Nicole (Jason); granddaughter, Jamie (Corey); and great-grandson, Jackson; daughter Kimberley (Joe); granddaughter, Katherine (Michael). The oldest of six children John leaves behind Melissa, Michel, Kenneth, Chris, Nino, their spouses, nephews, nieces and their families.
He was pre-deceased by his mother Lorraine and father Vincent, brother-in-laws John Brody, Norman Boudreau, his name sake Uncle John and Aunt Peg and nephew Dmitriy “Dima”.
John was a loving husband, grandpa, father, son, brother and friend. A true cowboy, John loved his animals especially his horses and dogs. A carpenter by trade he built many houses and one of a kind custom furniture pieces. John’s handy work and craft live on through the many pieces he created. He was also an avid outdoorsmen, he loved his guns, hunting and fishing and enjoyed teaching others every bit as much as he loved doing these activities.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all the doctors and staff at the Boyle, Athabasca and Grande Prairie health care centres for their good care in his time of need.
He is deeply loved and will forever be missed.
John has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at Ellscott Community Hall on October 18, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
