Judy Edwards

Mrs. Judy “Judith Margaretta” Edwards of Athabasca passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Athabasca Healthcare Centre at the age of 82 years.

Judy was born on February 6, 1942, to Archie & Doreen Ryan in Athabasca, Alberta. Judy married George Edwards on April 11, 1959, at the All Saints Anglican Church in Athabasca.

Judy leaves to mourn her children: Bob (Ida) Edwards, Lyle (Bonnie) Edwards and Mark (Tracy) Edwards; grandchildren: Phyllis (Andrew) Pitura, Quinton (Emma) Edwards, Joshua (Lindsay Wolanuk) Edwards, Vincent (Stephanie) Edwards, Gaige Edwards, Danikah (Mark) Laackmann, J’Nay Edwards; great grandchildren: Jack Pitura, George Pitura, William Pitura, David Pitura, Brayden Murray-Edwards, Skye Edwards, Zoey Edwards, John Edwards, Abbigail Edwards, Benjamin Edwards, Payci Laackmann; brothers-in-law: Albert (Anita) Edwards, Jack Edwards, Frank (Barb) Edwards; sisters-in-law: Evelyn (Gary) Schumacher, Phyllis (Bob) Gray, Judy Ryan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Judy was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years: George; parents: Archie and Doreen Ryan; father-in-law: Jeremiah “Jack” Edwards; mother-in-law: Geraldine Edwards; brothers: Gerald Ryan, Melvin Ryan; sisters-in-law: Betty Edwards, Dorothy Ryan, Donna Edwards.

A memorial service for Judy will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., at the All Saints Anglican Church with a private family burial to take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Huntington Society of Canada, a society that is very dear to Judy and her family.
