Katherine Nelson Obituary
On January 2nd, 2022, Katherine Nelson of Athabasca passed away at age 89.
Katherine is survived by her five children: Ron (Rose) Nelson of Faust, Donna Larson of Boyle, Debbie Nelson (Ron Giesbrecht) of Athabasca, Sandra Haley (Jacques Gagnon) of Red Deer and Wayne (Dawn) Nelson of Athabasca; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and sister: Mary Kowalchuk.
Katherine is predeceased by her husband Earl; parents: Peter & Mary Chilak; sister: Annie Kowalchuk; and son in law: Ken Larson.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 6th, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Athabasca Community Chapel.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, January 7th, 2022 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Al Plat officiating. Interment to follow at the Athabasca Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Athabasca Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of one’s choice.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Schaub and the staff of the Athabasca Hospital for their excellent care and compassion provided to mom.
