Lila Edith Grace Hancock
1939-2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Lila Edith Grace Hancock (nee Janes), formerly of
Deer Lake, NL now living in Alberta, announce her passing on August 26, 2020 in her 81st year.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her four children; Kim (John) Tobin, Rob (Trudi) Hancock, Ruth (Euclid) Gauthier, and Fred Hancock. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren Ashley Moss (Tommy Lambert), Cody Roberts, Kirsten Tobin, Cooper Tobin, Carter Tobin, Alexandra Hancock, Deborah Hancock, and Madison Thorne; great grandchildren Noah Lambert, Emily Lambert, Kayden Hancock, Zander Hancock, Jacoby Roberts, Shadox Roberts, Bo Roberts and Conner Thorne. Lila is also survived by her siblings Fred (Jean) Janes, Sybil Harris (Clar Robbins), sister in law: Jean Janes and special friend for many years, Margie Lambert.
Lila was predeceased by her husband Clouston Hancock; parents Lewis and Elsie Janes; sister Marie (Roy) Sibley; brother Hollis Janes; nephew Roger Sibley, grandson Dwayne Snow and great granddaughter Zoey Hancock. Also leaving to mourn is a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a family celebration of Lila’s life will be held at the Athabasca Community Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date in Deer Lake, NL.
Donations may be made in Lila’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society.
