Mary Ann Bulas

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, with much love we said our last goodbye on September 12, 2025 at the age of 87.

Mary Ann was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Mom was raised in the Fairhaven district on the family farm. When Dad and Mom married in 1955, they started their own family farm in the Deep Creek area. Mom grew enormous gardens and amazing flowers; when she wasn’t milking cows, feeding pigs, chickens, turkeys, cows or running a piece of farm equipment, she could be found sewing clothes for the family. The coffee was always on with snacks served and an open ear to listen.

Mary’s real love in life was her family. She always had a genuine interest in her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She was our biggest fan.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years (one month shy) Walter, daughters Linda (Marion) Wolak, Susan (John) Van Rompaey, sons Ray Bulas (Debbie), Brian (Louise) Bulas. Grandchildren Stacey (Michael) Kanarek, Sheena (Phil) James, Carrie Bulas, Vance (Hannah) Wolak, Katrina (Ki) Schmidt, Kaitlynn Bulas, Jason Bulas, Carlene (Nate) Kis, Kelcie Bulas (Justin). Great grandchildren Samual & Kaylee Kanarek, Nicholi Bulas, Skylar & Walker James, Kane & Piper Schmidt, Kayden & Zerrick Wolak, Kenzie Kis. Sisters, Agnes Lupiezowiec, Edna Konior, and brother Joseph Lupiezowiec, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, Paul & Helen Lupiezowiec, in-laws Mike & Mary Bulas, sister-in-law Linda Lupiezowiec, brother-in-laws Mike Bulas, Steve Radkewich, Stan Gerwatoski, and Ed Konior.

A Prayer Service will be held Thursday September 25, 2025 at 7:00PM at the Athabasca Community Chapel. 3403-48th Ave. Athabasca, Alberta.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday September 26, 2025 at 11:00AM at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church. 5303-49th Ave. Athabasca, Alberta.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's name, to the Athabasca Auxiliary Hospital.
