Mary was born to parents Paul and Maria Hnatyshyn at Athabasca, Alberta (second oldest of 8 children) and passed away at Edmonton, Alberta on April 14, 2025, at the age of 95 years.

She married Peter (Pete) Pidzarko in 1947, and since then was known as “Pete’s Mary”. They farmed (grain-cattle) in the Richmond Park, Alberta area until moving to Athabasca in 1978. Mary will be dearly missed by her siblings (and their wives) Rose, Irene, Paul (Carol) and Henry (Lorna), along with sister-in-law Diane, lifelong friends, numerous nieces and nephews and their extended families.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents and siblings Joseph, Emelia and Alice, her in-laws: Bill, Ed, Mike (Anne), Nancy (David), Steve (Mary), Annie (Everett), Eugene (Mary), John, Millie (Alex) and Helmut.

Her funeral service will be held at Ukrainian Catholic Church in Athabasca (5203 - 49 Avenue) on April 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
