It is with heavy hearts and sadness that the family of Maxine Williams (Yowney) announce her passing at the age of 91.
Maxine was born in Taber, Alberta. She was the last child born to Henry and Ethel Reason. When she was a young girl the family moved from Taber to the Otter Creek District, 14 miles east of Smith, Alberta. She completed her schooling which was up to grade 9. She spent her adult life in Athabasca where she married Mike Yowney and raised their two children. Most of her working career in Athabasca was at the Athabasca Pharmacy. After her “retirement” from the Pharmacy, she attended A.V.C. and completed her High School GED. Something she was very proud of. Her last place of employment was with Pac Construction until her official retirement age. After the passing of her husband Mike, she met and married John Williams with whom she enjoyed her retirement years. Due to health reasons, she was moved to Extendicare March 2021 where she remained until her passing.
She is survived by her husband, John Williams, her two children, Laurie (Dan) Bonell of Athabasca and Bob (Kathy) Yowney of Athabasca. She also survived by her brother, Bob Reason (Slave Lake), grandchildren, Isaac and Calley Jade Yowney, Nicole Eastly of Medicine Hat and one Great Grand Daughter, Rayah Eastly-Willier plus numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all.
Maxine was predeceased by her husband, Mike Yowney, her parents, Henry and Ethel Reason and her sisters, Hildamae Reason, Shirley Olson and LaVerne Schmidt.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
