PETER FRANK POSYNICK December 14, 1943 -January 14, 2024
With great sadness the family of Peter Posynick, of the Town of Boyle, Alberta, announces his passing on January 14, 2024 at the age of 80 years.
Peter is survived by his children Tim and Ken, adoptees Nathan, Norman and Trevor, several grandchildren and his sister, Maxine Sommer (Calgary) and brother, Jim Posynick (Creston, B.C.). He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Julia Posynick, his wife Pat and his sisters Jeanne and Patricia.
Peter was a travelin’ man. He had several careers, from delivery-man, to wood-pulp tester to truck driver. He especially liked trucking around western Canada which allowed him to visit senior (now deceased) relatives and make many friends. Peter’s was an avowedly independent soul but, in his later years, he grew closer to his family, always wishing them and their children well.
Peter had a love of football (Dallas Cowboys) and baseball (the Jays) and, especially loved his Montreal Canadiens. He was known, in his younger years, to shoot pool, enjoy a beer and croon a Johnny Cash tune. He had a big voice, broad smile and a welcoming heart.
The family acknowledges the loving care and comfort Peter enjoyed while living with his dear friends Candace and Louie and Angel and their respective families. He loved all of them. A special thank you to all of you who expressed condolences and kind words to us. Finally, many thanks to the staff at Wildrose Villa for their support during difficult times.
Memorial donations in Peter’s name can be made to a local (Boyle) charity of choice or to the Canadian Cancer Foundation. Peter did not wish to have a funeral but I’m sure he would like all of us to celebrate his life.
