Philip was my first cousin, the son of my mother's older brother Rene. The last time I saw him and Marie was in the 1990's when they came to visit at my parents' home. I remember him as a young man ( while they lived in Saskatchewan) to be a quiet and kind person, but in that last visit he was quite humorous. Marie, though, was very quiet; perhaps to let Philip be the comedian with HIS relatives; I've been told she had a great sense of humour too.
My heartfelt condolences to you all on the loss of Philip so soon after the loss of Marie. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Philip was a hard worker , no job was ever to big, he would never tire or quit  till the job was done. For instance, when he used to work at the sawmills sometimes he would have to work double shifts which were each twelve hours long. Which meant he worked twenty four hours straight. When he was asked if he had to out toothpicks in his eyes to keep them open he would say no as if it was nothing to have to work that long of hours. Or the times when he was working at the garage when his boss would make him work his shift besides haul fuel to farmers and businesses around the area and driving school bus in between and then being sent out to clear land or other jobs for people around the area. At this he did not complain but just went out and did it. While he had this job working very long hours he would have to use three alarm clocks and attach them to his car horn to be able to wake up in the morning. Other instances showing he was a very hard worker was when he would put in a nine or ten hour day at work, come home for dinner, eat, then go out to the garden to pull out potatoes in the fall and then go back to work. Then after coming back from work jumping on the tractor or other machinery and go work in the fields till dark. He was also a man of his word and helped anyone who needed it. He liked making things which included aggravation board games, certain parts and pieces for his farm equipment from scratch. He also built all the buildings on his farm 1. He also liked fishing at his. He also liked fishing at his river lot he had made in the farm and where he had built a cabin  for his dlaughter Carmen to come camping in. He also built an outhouse for this area. He made a wooden man and dressed him up in his old shirt and jeans and stood him up on the lot to scare away the animals  His name is woody. He also liked to play the guitar although he didn't know the chords he liked to pick and try to follow along to the music he liked which was country.  He also played fiddle and according to a picture I saw a banjo as well. He was a jolly man and not much got him down. Plus if he was in pain the only way to know was by his face or his actions.Even when his pain sq was at a ten he would rarely complain. His first job after leaving home was working for Wilfred LeBlanc on his farm. He also worked for another farmer Charlie Parent. When he used to work in the sawmills his shift would always cut more lumber than the other shift no matter how hard the other shift would try to cut more. He was a jack of all trades and a master of them all. He was a son, friend, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he was a master of these as well. He was the heart and soul of his family.

Carmen and Carol (and your respective families),
I am very sorry for the loss of your Dad (especially so soon after losing your Mom).  I will always remember your Dad as a kind and good-natured man who had a very special way with animals (perhaps an animal-whisperer, if you will) . . . he is the only person I know that could teach a budgie to talk.  I will also remember your Dad as my uncle with the Elvis Presley hair.  My heartfelt thoughts are with you.
