Randall Scott Howells

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randall “Randy” Scott Howells, who departed this life on May 28, 2025, at the age of 67. Randy lived his life on his terms and faced his death the same way.

Born on April 29, 1958, in Winnipeg, Randy lived a life marked by the same trials a lot of us face and Randy faced them with stoic resolve. Randy was known for speaking his mind but was always there to help whenever the need arose regardless of whether they were family, friend or stranger.

Randy spent his early adulthood in the Canadian military where he was an outstanding member of Second Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (2PPCLI). After his military service, Randy drove heavy duty truck for several years and in the last years of his life he enjoyed his job at the Athabasca golf course.

Randy’s true love was nature, and he was most happy hunting and fishing.

Randy is survived by his brother Steven. They are predeceased by Howard James “Bud” Howells and Margaret Joan “Jody” Howells.

There will be a graveside service on June 28th, at 11:00a.m. at the Athabasca Cemetery, followed by a lunch at the Athabasca Golf and Country Club.

Rest in peace, Randy, hoping wherever you are the pain has ended. You will be deeply missed.
