Reginald (Reggie) Stephenson Obituary

Reginald (Reggie) Stephenson beloved life partner, devoted father and Grandfather, cherished brother, Uncle, and loyal Friend went to be with the Lord August 3, 2025.

Reggie was born on February 25, 1961 to Eugene & Glenna Stephenson (Seeley) and grew up in Mt. Pleasant, New Brunswick. From childhood he had a strong sense of family, faith, and resilience that carried him through each chapter of his life. His love for the Lord carried him throughout his journey, giving him strength, peace, and purpose.

He had a true gift for connection, he never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t come to know yet. His infectious laugh could light up a room, and his playful spirit and sense of quick humor kept him forever a kid at heart. To know Reggie was to feel welcomed, safe, and unconditionally loved. Reggie had the rare ability to be himself fully and unapologetically, never concerned with what others might think.  That authenticity, paired with his genuine warmth, drew people to him and reminded us all that the best way to live is with honesty, laughter, and heart.

Reggie embraced life to the fullest, with a special gift for appreciating even the simplest moments. He found his greatest peace in the outdoors, enjoying everything it had to offer—fishing, hunting, quadding, snowmobiling, and more. His love of nature also shaped many of his early occupations in New Brunswick, from logging and working in the maple sugar bush to trucking and other trades.

Reggie's creativity and skill set shone through in every part of his life. He built a successful fabrication business, where his talent for bringing ideas to life was unmatched—if you could dream it, Reggie could build it. This gift ran in his blood, passed down from his father Eugene who was a machinist. His entrepreneurial spirit also led him to open Royalty Pizza, a business he poured his heart into and many fondly remember.

Later Reggie made his way out west, where his strong work ethic and wide skill set allowed him to succeed in many industries, including logging, wind energy, projects, the oilfield, and trucking. No matter the job, Reggie brought dedication, pride, and craftsmanship to everything he did.

Some of Reggie's cherished moments were those with family and friends. He loved cooking for others, especially sharing his famous pizza and his mother Glenna’s beloved meat pie. His passion for food and for people extended far beyond his own table—Reggie once brought his love for pizza to orphanages in Haiti, where, over an open fire, he prepared pizzas so that children there could experience it for the very first time. It was a gift of both nourishment and joy, and a reflection of Reggie’s generous heart.

Reggie’s love language was shown through acts of service and quality time. Nothing made him happier than spending his free time with his grandsons, teaching them lessons through simple, everyday moments. Whether it making pizza, fishing, hunting, quadding, playing games, building fires, cooking, or even teaching them to drive, he poured his heart into those times. His face lit up in their presence, his laughter, and it was clear how much joy they brought to his life.

Reggie leaves behind his life partner Kathy MacDougall; his children, Juston, Denise, Jesse, Zak; and his chosen daughter, Veronica, with whom he shared a special bond. He will be deeply missed by his beloved Grandsons Kacey, Stephan, and Donovan.

He also leaves behind his loving siblings Duane (Carol), Donna Wortman (Brian), Dean (Carol), Kenneth (Shawna) along with many nieces, nephews and extended family who will miss him dearly.

Reggie was predeceased by his parents Eugene Stephenson and Glenna (Seeley) Stephenson. His strength and unwavering love for God, his family, and friends were the foundation of his life. He was a man of honor whose memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at the Aspen Ridge Christian Fellowship church Athabasca, AB on August 23 at 2pm with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made Kingdom Christian Academy in Athabasca @my.kcacademy@gmail.com
