With heavy hearts and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Renee Marie Hutton.
Renee was born on December 15, 1964, in St. Paul to Maurice and Rita Perron, the youngest of four daughters and forever their cherished “baby.” She shared a lifelong bond with her sisters—Gisele, Marcella, and Diane—growing up surrounded by their love, laughter, and unwavering support. At the age of nine, her family moved to Boyle, the small town that would become her lifelong home and the place where she built a life rooted in love, family, and community.
At just 17 years old, Renee met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Hutton. From that moment on, their lives were intertwined in a partnership defined by devotion, laughter, resilience, and unwavering love. They were married on August 3, 1985, beginning a beautiful journey together that would span decades and create a legacy of family that Renee treasured above all else.
Renee and Bob were blessed with two daughters, Kathryn Michelle (born December 11, 1984) and Lauren Marie (born February 18, 1986). Renee was a devoted and loving mother, the heart of her home, and the steady presence her girls could always rely on. She poured her whole self into her family, always putting others before herself, always offering warmth, guidance, and unconditional love.
She was a hardworking and dedicated woman throughout her life. Renee supported Bob in his business, Bob’s Repair, managing the bookkeeping with care and precision. She later worked at Doug’s Super A Foods as a cashier, where her friendly smile and kind nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Eventually, she found her place at Canada Post, where she became the Postmaster. Renee became a familiar and beloved face in the community—someone everyone knew, someone who always took the time to chat, listen, and brighten someone’s day. To many, she was more than the person behind the counter—she was a friend.
Renee had a deep love for the outdoors and was known for her incredible gardening. She truly had the greenest thumb around—her gardens were vibrant, full of life, and admired by all who saw them. Her flowers bloomed as beautifully as the love she nurtured in her family. Summers were especially meaningful to Renee. She and Bob spent them camping throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and even the Yukon, creating lifelong memories with their daughters and extended family. Those trips were filled with laughter, togetherness, and the simple joy of being surrounded by the people she loved most.
In 2002, Renee welcomed her son-in-law, Clint Judd, into the family with open arms and a full heart. To her, family was never defined by blood alone—it was defined by love, and Clint quickly became one of her own.
Renee’s greatest joy in life came with the arrival of her grandchildren. In 2007, she was blessed with her first grandchild, Drake Robert James, who instantly became the apple of Gramma and Grampa’s eye. He was followed by Mallory Rita Jean, Wyatt Dale, and Dawson Maurice. Each one held an incredibly special place in Renee’s heart. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She adored them beyond words and cherished every moment spent with them—whether it was sharing stories, offering comfort, or simply watching them grow.
Renee is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert; her daughters, Kathryn and Lauren (Clint Judd); her sisters, Diane McNamara, Marcella (Cel Giacobbo), and Gisele (Ken Hague); her brothers-in-law Larry (Teresa) Hutton and Carey (Kim) Hutton; her sister-in-law Sharon (Randy) Harriman; her aunts Lorraine McLachlan and Elaine Moon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Rita Perron; her parents-in-law, Claude and Jean Hutton; her brothers-in-law Dave Simon, Andrew Hutton, Gordon Hutton, Arthur Hutton, and Lloyd Parker; her sister-in-law Dena Hutton; and many aunts and uncles.
Renee will be remembered as a selfless, compassionate, and deeply kind woman. She had a quiet strength that carried her through life’s challenges with grace and dignity. Her courage, especially in difficult times, was remarkable. She gave so much of herself to others and asked for so little in return. Her legacy is one of love—pure, steady, and enduring.
Our family would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at the Boyle Healthcare Centre. Over the past months, the care, compassion, and kindness you showed Renee meant more than words can express. You treated her with dignity, respect, and genuine warmth, and you supported not only her, but our entire family through an incredibly difficult time. Your patience, your gentle reassurance, your understanding, and your humanity will never be forgotten. You brought comfort when it was needed most, and for that, we will be forever grateful.
In keeping with Renee’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boyle Healthcare Centre in Renee’s memory.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that her love will live on in all of us. She will be forever missed and forever cherished.
