Richard Marion Rawa

May 23, 1950 - August 4, 2020

Richard Marion Rawa passed away peacefully at the Boyle Healthcare Center on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the age of 70 years.   

He is survived by his mother Jennie, children Melissa (Nathan), Kristy and Jason (Misty), grandchildren McKenzie, Kiana, Sage and Scarlet,  brother Anthony (Helen), sisters Elizabeth and Dorothy (Bert) as well a numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Richard was predeceased by his brother Zenon, brother-in-law Doug and father Marion.

Over the years Richard worked for a paving crew, in the oil patch and farmed in the Amber Valley area with his mother.  Richard enjoyed playing his guitar, welding, ice fishing, picnics at the lake, running cats and farming.  He will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and love of family events.

A funeral service for family and close friends will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. at the Athabasca Community Chapel.

Due to the current health crisis, the funeral service will be limited to a maximum of 50 people. A recording of the funeral service will be uploaded following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
