Ronald Louis LaPlace

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ron LaPlace on Sunday, October 27, 2024

He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Mary LaPlace.

Survived by his sister Marilyn (Brian Bittorf), brother Richard (Donna), special friend Roseann and loving partner Dorothy of (Colorado).

Ron had many interests including using his perfect pitch to play bagpipes and guitar. He also loved speed and fast cars. For many summers he would attend the BMW driving school in Germany.

He developed construction skills when building two log homes with his brother-in-law Brian in the Colinton area.

Ron was often years ahead of his time becoming an innovator in Canada's solar industry in the early 1980's. He was named Mr. Solar Canada and was Canada's delegate to international solar conferences.

In the early 2000's Ron became a meditation and sacred geometry facilitator leading workshops in Turkey, Japan, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Romania, Peru, Mexico, USA and Canada.

Last year Ron and a colleague developed a unique healing program, SpiritTec Sound Systems, using sound frequencies for body healing. 

He was a compassionate and empathetic listener to all his family and friends, often offering sage advice and wisdom.

Ron had the ability to study and learn anything that he was interested in, and always to the highest level. It was this desire for knowledge that also led him to seek answers and understanding for many of life's unanswered questions.

He shared his knowledge in his workshops. Recent condolence messages indicate how well respected and loved Ron was by his workshop attendees. Ron's teachings focused on opening one's heart to bring in Love, Peace and Harmony to make the world a better place.

Ron's involvement with pickleball and golf introduced him to many good friends.
