Ruth Dianne Hubert

Mrs. Ruth Dianne Hubert of West Baptiste Lake, Alberta, formerly of Edmonton Alberta, passed away at the Athabasca Hospital on May 10th, 2023 at the age of 83 years.

She leaves behind her loving husband Robert (Bob) Hubert, her sons Bob C. Hubert (and Elaine) of Red Deer, and Todd C. Hubert (and Grace) of Edmonton, her brother Don Zacharuk of Edmonton, her grandchildren Rachelle (Justin), Danielle, Matthew, and Stephanie, and two great-grandchildren Melanie and Katie Dunbar.

Dianne was born in Lacombe, AB and was raised and lived in Edmonton for most of her life. She began employment with AGT as a switchboard operator at a young age, and eventually became a manager retiring after many years of service.  She enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends and enjoyed snow-birding down to Arizona and motor-homing in Mexico with Bob and with friends. 

Dianne loved music and was an accomplished pianist and organist.  In her younger years she sang and played piano with a small group which included her future spouse and brother-in-law as they travelled to various churches in rural Alberta.  Her love of music influenced both of her sons, and even reached to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dianne and Bob enjoyed their last years together at their cabin at Baptiste Lake where they loved to bird and animal watch in the summer, and they were even known to rescue, help, and feed various animals during the long cold winter months.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at Athabasca Community Chapel Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 1:00pm.
