Shelley Dawn (Dubie) Gagne

June 27, 1969 – July 31, 2020

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our loving daughter, Shelley, in a vehicle accident on Friday, July 31, 2020, at the age of 51 years.

She will be dearly missed, and lovingly remembered by her daughter Tiana, her mom and dad Don and Shirley, her brother Troy and Nichole, and their children, Quinn and Cauy, as well as many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

Shelley was born on June 27, 1969, at the Athabasca Hospital and spent most of her life In this area. She went to college in Lac La Biche then worked in the school at Alberta Hospital, then Edmonton, Barrhead, Villeneuve, Westlock, and Athabasca.

Her girls were her first love and priority, but her students also brought her a lot of happiness. She made friends wherever she went never forgetting a face and always had time for a visit.

She was predeceased by her auntie Brenda, uncle Harvey, grandma and grandpa Smith, grandma and grandpa Dubie, auntie Evelyn and uncle Dale, auntie Millie and uncle Jim and auntie Francis.

Along with Shelley, we lost our precious granddaughter, Kailee Rose Gagne, a beautiful girl, inside and out. She was born in Barrhead Hospital on January 27, 2004. Kailee leaves behind to mourn her loss of her sister Tiana, father Brad, grandma Gagne, grandma, and grandpa Dubie, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at the Colinton Community Centre. Due to the current government restrictions, we are limited to 100 people in attendance. The family will be holding two services for the public one at 1:00 P.M. (THIS SERVICE IS FULL, any unfilled seats will become avaliable at 1:10 P.M.) and one at 4:00 P.M. (THIS SERVICE IS FULL, any unfilled seats will become avaliable at 4:10 P.M.) If you would like to be placed on our cancelation list please call 780-675-3996, should a party cancel their reservation, seats will be given in the order they are received. The service will be uploaded at www.athabascacommunitychapel.com for home viewing. 

A donation in memory of Shelley or Kailee can be made to a charity of your choice.  Due to COVID restrictions, the family is requesting that any donations not be brought to the funeral service. A trust account in support of Tiana Gagne has been set up at CIBC in Athabasca.  Please see Rose or Stephanie at the banking center to deposit. Alternatively, please contact Nichole at 780-689-0247 who would be happy to provide you with an account number to deposit at your local CIBC
