It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Markowski, who left us peacefully on March 12, 2026, just days before his 91st birthday.
Victor leaves behind his loving wife, Lillian of 65 years; his son Allan; his grandchildren and step grandchildren Jamie, Ben, Stephanie (Jared) and Brittany (Ken); his sisters Alice and Kay; in‑law’s Rose, Gladys, Ed (Loretta) and Helen (Fred); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Katherine; siblings Mary, Anne, Nancy, Ed, Glen, and Roy; in‑laws Peter and Stefania; brother in-laws John (Mary), Walter (Kay) and John (Alice).
Victor had a deep love for horses, driving his team in his earlier years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, curling, and woodworking — crafting birdhouses, animal shelters, and anything else that needed building. He had a natural talent for fixing things and took great pleasure in working on projects for his grandchildren. Caring for his yard, farm, and animals was a source of joy and purpose throughout his life.
For 42 years, Victor was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was blessed to live a healthy and happy life and never suffered illness, and for this we are thankful. He kept his independence until the very end, something that meant a great deal to him.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to family and friends for their love and support during this time.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church.
After the service we would like to invite everyone for lunch and fellowship downstairs in the church.
