William "Bill" Sheremeta
1933-2021
With saddened hearts, we announce that our husband, father, grandfather and brother has passed away on June 4, 2021 at the age of 87 years at Athabasca Extendicare.
Bill was born to Walter and Annie Sheremeta on the family farm in Prosperity. After his father passed away, Bill took over the farming duties, married Ann in 1959 and helped raise four sons. To supplement farming, in the winter Bill worked at sawmills and on construction projects including bank buildings for the CIBC and ATB in Athabasca and the RCMP barracks in Boyle. After his retirement, he enjoyed travelling, gardening and his trips to A & W for coffee.
Bill will be missed by his loving wife, Ann; his four sons Cliff (Sandy), Ron (Chona), Alan (Paula), and Jim (Luisa); eight grandchildren Robyn (Josh), Sean, Melissa (Ryan), Chelsie, Devin, Harrison (Lisa), Abby and Tessa (Matt); and one great granddaughter Rowan. Also mourning his loss are his siblings Jean, Mike (Roseann) and Walter.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, siblings Mary, Nick, Ann and Johnny, as well as Peter and Eva who died in infancy.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Athabasca Community Chapel between 11:00 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. and private family service will follow.
Ann and the family thank the Extendicare staff, Dr. Michael Burger, and the staff at the Athabasca Hospital for their care and support.
