Albert Dery

Mr. Albert Dery of Donatville, beloved husband of Mrs. Lucille Dery, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Athabasca Healthcare Centre on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the age of 66 years.

Albert Dery was born April 3, 1950. He was raised and went to school in the Bonnyville area. As an adult he lived in many places before settling down in the Donatville area with Lucille in 1989. He enjoyed visiting and telling stories and jokes with strangers and family alike. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and always found time to help anyone in need. Albert will surely be missed by many.

Besides his loving wife Lucille Dery, Albert is survived by his two daughters Jacqueline Dery, Lori-Anne Kjos (Trent), four sons Denis (Nicole) Dery, Derek Dery, Bradley Dery, Christopher Dery, grandchildren Damian Dery, Gavin Rosychuk, Savanna Vanduzen, Justine Dery (Ryan), Kaylee Dery, Emily Dery, Mia Dery, Sadie Dery, five sisters Celine, Marie (Chress), Denise, Eugenie (Norm), Agathe (Dave), three brothers Ernie (Vera), George (Donna), and Noel. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Rose Gauthier, brothers-in-law Father Gerard Gauthier, Dan Gauthier (Liza), Raymond Gauthier (Chris), sister-in-law Louella Meyers (Dale), special friends Hughie Whitney, Nick McNaughton as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Albert was predeceased by his parents Clement Dery and Cecile Bureau, father-in-law Phil Gauthier and brother-in-law Francis Berube.

Vigil Rights will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Athabasca Community Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Boyle Roman Catholic Church with Father Gerard Gauthier celebrant with cremation to follow.

In Lieu of flowers, those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Athabasca Health Care Centre or the Aspen Health Service.
