D’Arcy McGhan
1942-2019
D’Arcy McGhan of Perryvale, Alberta, passed away in his sleep at home on Sunday, December 22nd, 2019, at the age of 77 years. He was born in March of 1942, to Lester and Gwen McGhan in Edmonton, Alberta.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Evelyn; his daughters Shelley (Kevin) Grundberg and Gwen (Deirdre McCaughey) McGhan; and sons Robert (Holly) McGhan and Winston (Karry) McGhan. He leaves behind his grandchildren Arlo and Stacia Grundberg; Ashley, Jared, and Kyle McGhan; and Brendan, Olivia, and Celia McGhan.
He is also survived by his sister Maureen (Dave) Leslie; and their children Dayna and Jaaki.
D’Arcy was known for his love of hockey and coached numerous teams to much success. Another important part of his life was his farming; he was very proud of the cattle he bred and showed. Born a natural salesman, D’Arcy had a second career in selling farm machinery.
A memorial service for D’Arcy will be held at a later date. In lieu of sending flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice.
