It is with love and gratitude that the family of Evelyn Andruski (née Schneider) announces her peaceful passing on August 28, 2026, at the age of 96. Born in Edmonton and raised on the family farm near Nisku, Evelyn carried the values of hard work, kindness, and family throughout her life.
She married her beloved husband, Harry, in 1951, and together they raised their children, Donna and Lloyd. Their years in Devon and Leduc were filled with family, friendship, camping, fishing, hunting, and countless cherished memories.
In 2005, Evelyn and Harry moved to Athabasca to be closer to family. Evelyn’s home was always welcoming, with homemade perogies, fresh apple pie, and a place at the table for everyone.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Donna (Jerry) Alix; son, Lloyd Andruski; grandsons, Jay (Rhonda) Alix and Dean (Kyla) Alix; great-grandsons, Peyton and Owen Alix; brother, Albert of Parksville, B.C.; and sister, Dorothy of Edmonton.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; parents, Herman and Julia Schneider; and five siblings.
A Graveside Service was held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Athabasca Community Cemetery.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her gentle nature, warm smile, and generous heart.
