It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Grace Rachel Raycraft (Greaves) on August 21, 2021 at the age of 82.  She will be greatly missed and remembered for her wonderful smile that lit up the room.

Having a life-long dedication to the school bus industry in the Ottawa region, Grace began her career as a school bus driver then moved on to become a well known and respected safety supervisor and driving trainer. She worked with local law enforcement and school boards to ensure safety for all students.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Joseph (Leslie), Pierre, Patrick, Colleen (Gary), David (Joanne), and former daughter-in-law Debbie Sunde; her grandchildren: Bradley (Melanie), Christopher, Stace, Olivia (Nathan), Taylor, Charlotte, Jason (Steven), Clinton, Max (Liz), and Emma (Karl); great-grandchildren: Pearce, Dana, Riley, Gabrielle, and Willow.

Grace was predeceased by her nine siblings: Joe, Jane, Jessie, Hazel, Mayme, Tom, Dave, Jim, and Elmer.

At Grace’s request no formal service will be held.

Grace’s family extend their thanks to the Home Care staff of the Athabasca Community Health Services who provided excellent care of her over the last two years, as well as her personal physician Dr. Adekunle Ogunnupe, the staff at the Athabasca Health Care Centre, and the staff at Extendicare.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital (Edmonton, Alberta) or the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (Ottawa, Ontario).
