Isadora Shank of Athabasca, passed away at the Athabasca Healthcare Centre on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the age of 97 years.

Isadora was born in Athabasca, Alberta on March 15, 1920 to Wes & Edna Lines. She lived her life in the Athabasca area, going to school in Tawatiaw and Athabasca. She married Leo and moved to the farm to work along side him and raise their children. Isadora was an avid reader reading as much as 4-5 novels a week well into her 97th year. She loved capturing life's moments in photographs, recording specific details of the events on the back of each and every picture; family history and of course, anything to do with horses – including a trail ride with Shirley to Fort Edmonton in her later years. She was a long time member of the Catholic Women’s League. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

Isadora is survived by her son Stanley Shank, daughter Judy Banic (Frank), grandchildren Blaine Shank, Nicole Shank (Chiem), Paul Banic, Steven Banic and Jack Banic. Isadora leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Lawrence Lines and David Lines, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

Besides her loving husband Leo Shank, Isadora was predeceased by her parents Edna and Wes Lines, her daughter Shirley Shank, brother Terence Lines and daughter-in-law Joanne Shank.

Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Athabasca Healthcare Auxiliary Association.
