Joseph (Joe) Semashkewich passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Gloria (Bill) Lechky, Ailien Holdis (Jerry Derko), Barry (Carol) Semashkewich, Robert (Cheryl) Semashkewich, and Lewis (Penny) Semashkewich; son-in-law: David Fehr; grandchildren: Travis (Wanda), Trevor (Erin), Tyler (Leslie), Scott (Carrie), Shawn, Kurt (Candace), Kristy, Derek (Alanna), John (Taralee), as well as fourteen great grandchildren; his three sisters: Mary (Peter) Szmyrko, Elsie Shmyrko, and Josie (Ed) Hlushak; sister-in-law: Olga Semashkewich; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Ann in 2017, Daughter Deborah in 2019 and grandson Aaron in 2003, his parents, John and Katie, brother, Stanley and sister Helen.
Joe was cremated and a Celebration of Life in his honor will take place at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Athabasca Community Hospital for their kind and compassionate support at this difficult time.
