Ken Lund
1930-2018
Ken passed away at the age of 88 years on July 3, 2018 at the Athabasca long-term care facility. He is survived by his loving wife Joan, brother Trueman (Hazel), son Ken (Felice), daughter Theresa (Dave) and grandchildren Kyle, Kaitlyn, Matthew, Justin and Allyson. Ken was predeceased by his first wife, Adrienne and his eldest son, John.
Born and raised in Boyle, Ken remained on the family farm that his parents, John and Anina Lund, had homesteaded in 1928. Ken was very active within the Boyle Community, especially the Lions Club where he held numerous positions over the years. He worked hard on his farm while raising John, Terry and Kenny with the help of family, friends and neighbors after the death of his young wife, Adrienne in 1970. Loved by his family and friends, he will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank the staff and management of the Boyle Wildrose Villa for their wonderful care and support of Ken during his time there, and the Athabasca Care Home where he spent his last years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Gateway Community Church: 5001 Taylor Road, Boyle. A grave-side service will not be held at this time.
