Kenneth James Van Hees

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ken on February 17, 2024 at the age of 65. He died suddenly in the arms of his daughter with his wife by his side. He will live on through his wife, Lorraine of 39 years, children Cameron (Stacey), Marlene (Fred) and Sara. His Grandchildren Corie Lynn, Dominic, and Everett. His Father John, Siblings and numerous Nieces and Nephews. He will be reunited with his Daughter Corinne and Mother Ellen. Ken was raised in Edmonton, at the age of 10 his family bought a lake lot at Skeleton Lake, they used the cabin avidly year round water skiing, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. People still talk about how he was one of the greatest water skiers of that era on Skeleton Lake. Ken went into carpentry while still in high school, he worked alongside his father, brother and extended family on numerous jobs throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC and the Territories. On one job he met Lorraine and they were married soon after. They started their family in Edmonton and soon moved to Boyle. Where he continued with carpentry and started ranching. Over the last few years he worked alongside his Son on jobs around Alberta and BC. He will be remembered for taking numerous kids out on horseback, helping coach minor hockey, hunting adventures, helping strangers on the highway, and friends with their building projects. He always found time for his Grandchildren; they will miss the boat rides, fishing, quading and hunting with him. At Ken’s request there will be no funeral service.
