The family of Nina Rys (nee Kapitaniuk) are saddened to announce her passing on June 24th, 2022 at the age of 97 years.
Nina is survived by her 2 daughters: Helene Rys (Gil LaRose) of Edmonton, AB and Lesia Rys (Dennis Popwich) of Athabasca, AB; 3 grandchildren: Sydney, Jocelyn, and Justin; as well as her sister Motria Mah of Edmonton, AB.
She is predeceased by her husband Arsen; infant daughter Maria Rys; and her siblings: Bill Kapitaniuk and Vasylyna Kapitaniuk.
Prayer Service will take place on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Athabasca, AB
Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, July 6th, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Athabasca, AB with Father Roman Shiyan officiating.
Interment to follow at Athabasca Cemetery.
