It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Wife, Mother and Grandmother Normetta Katona on December 20, 2016. She leaves behind her husband of 39 years Albert Katona of Athabasca, loving daughter Nicole (Evan) Rysdyk of Athabasca and her two favorite little grandsons Carsen and Keelan, Her Mother Elizabeth (Betty) Browne of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, Her sister Marilyn (Lawrence) McKee of Courval, Saskatchewan, Uncle Dale (Marlene) Hannah of Carlyle, Saskatchewan, Aunt Thora Browne of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, In-laws Julius (Edith) Katona, Deanna Katona, Mary Koons, Fred and Elsie Martin, Clarence and Margaret Osinchuk, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her father Claude Browne.Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 7, 2017 at 1pm at the Athabasca Multiplex field house. In lieu of flowers, donations are greatly appreciated to the Cross Cancer Institute Edmonton, Alberta.
