The official obituary of

Richard Korbut

April 17, 1948 — January 8, 2025

Send flowers

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Korbut on January 08, 2025.  He was a loving husband, father and known as Gramps to his grandchildren that he adored.

He is survived by his loving wife Louise, his daughter Jessica (James) Pollock and their child Lily, and his son Eric (Sarah) Korbut and their twins Harris and Owen.  His brother Alec Korbut, nephews Craig and Curtis , niece Ann-Maire, brother Eugene Korbut and numerous nieces and nephews.   He was predeceased by his parents Harry Korbut and Katie Courterelle and brother Fred Korbut as well as numerous family.

Richard was born in Lac La Biche, Alberta on April 17, 1948. He enjoyed farming all of his life. He was an owner/operator truck driver, drove a propane truck, worked in the oilfield, all while keeping the family farm active.  He met his wife, Louise Kramer in 1978 where they started dating and married in June 1982. His pride and joy was his 2 children Jessica and Eric. He enjoyed all aspects of his children’s life as he was the bus driver, coaching all sports they participated in, and being the cheering squad. Later in life, after his kids got married, the best part was grandchildren where he was known as Gramps. He took that role very seriously as he always has suckers in pockets and a ride on his quad or tractor.

The funeral arrangements will be held at Boyle Community Center on Saturday, January 18, 2025 with Rev. Fr. Dr. Roman I. Shiyan officiating at 10:30 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boyle Public Library.
