Allan Stuart Hunter
October 9, 1930- January 16, 2020
On Jan 16 Professor Al passed away at Athabasca Long Term Care. He was a man of the world, doing his best to educate those he crossed paths with. He was a Chartered Accountant by training but teaching was his true passion, with teaching as far away as University of Nairobi and Japan to as close as the University of Lethbridge and everywhere in between. He loved golfing, hiking, skiing, hockey and the great outdoors.
Cherishing his memories include his wife Sue Hunter and family of Bellevue, Washington; daughter Liza (Jim) Russell of Athabasca, grandchildren Miranda Russell (Ian McFarlane), Meaghan Russell (Grant Raboud), Daniel Russell (Emma Moore); daughter Jody (Clint) Blyth of Fleming, Saskatchewan, grandson Sam (Jenna Senecal-Smith), great-grandchildren Gui and Felicity Blyth-Senecal; grandson Jim (Robin) Blyth; son Michael Hunter of Fort St. John, B.C.; son Craig (Chris) Hunter of Kaleden, B.C. granddaughter Jessica, grandson Clayton (Michelle Wood Stuckert) Stuckert; and sister Norma Chambers and niece Gwen Chambers of Vancouver, B.C.. Al was predeceased by his first wife Anne (nee MacDougall) Hunter.
We as a family would like to thank the community, in particular, the health care aides and nurses of Athabasca Long Term Care for giving Dad quality of life in his last few years.
